Join us as the New Worlds Alliance, together with Fully Booked and Solar USA, presents A Long Expected Party: The 2nd Philippine Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention at The PowerPlant Mall Parking Quad, Rockwell on January 17 and 18, 2004. Hosted by The Philippine Tolkien Society, A Long Expected Party features a showcase of exhibits, seminars, contests, performances, booths and film screenings by different fan groups.

Follow the tragedies and battles spawned by the power of the One Ring in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings in TPTS' The War of the Ring and the Return of the King Timeline Diorama and Art Exhibit, as the story is told by a variety of collectibles, artworks and merchandise by local enthusiasts. Gasp in awe as two Jedi battle for supremacy when you watch the Star Wars Philippines Lightsaber Demo. If you feel like kicking vampire butt, show Buffy a thing or two in Pinoy Slayer's The Vampire Slayer High Kick Contest, or watch the Matrix Philippines Final Flight of the Osiris Duel. Gamers from
AEGIS strut their stuff in An Introduction to Sci-Fi Role-Playing Games Workshop, and if you're still up to it after all of that, if all that doesn't satisfy you, get a load of the gyrating, oh-so-mysterious, sexy man-clones, The Stormballs!

Join the groups, the contests, the hysteria. Watch the performances. Play the games. And celebrate the books, movies, TV shows and characters that are our myths today. Greetings, QT players!

One of the proposed activities for the Convention is the Quidditch Expo where the teams will be presented.  In the case of Gripins, their robes would be modeled (don’t worry, not naman sa ramp… kind of like the one which happened during the Xmas Party.).  The players will be introduced in the booth – your mascots, name explanations, a few questions will be asked – parang Q&A about the house team, your plans, etc.

And in line with that, here’s the stuff we’ll be needing ASAP:

-          print out of your mascot’s poster

-          print out your team’s directory (player names, short wizarding bios, descriptions – great example would be the one in GQT’s blog)

-          poster (pede na ang long bond paper, computer print out) of your team – bearing your players’ names, positions, etc.

-          memorabilia/a lil something that your team can donate for the prizes during the convention (optional)

The Gripins training scheduled for today (December 19) is cancelled. Captain Mara can't make it tonight plus there's a good chance that the game tomorrow will be cancelled as well.

The new Hogwarts Philippines Castle became Plottable and other protective wards had been destroyed. And HMC cannot rebuild the protective wards again. So she is looking for another site for another castle. She would soon inform all of us whenever there would be a new castle fit for all of us.

For now, this Gripins haven is all we have while waiting for our new PHP home. so tag away! :)
